So if bidding is 6 months, that brings us to May. If regulatory is going to be 12-18 mos after the final bid, this might not close til the end of 2027

It would be real funny if Warner Bros. Discovery is still able to split up like planned in April.

There's really no route in which Zaslav loses here. People would laugh at the suggestion WB could be sold for this a few years ago. This could prob drag for a while too

    Yeah...what about this?

Could they be forced to pause even if the board is leaning to continuing with Netflix? The split was a company plan anyways that could have only been paused by Paramount buying NOW

He’s really one of the smartest businessmen of all time. He was the CEO of a successful cable networks company but recognized that it was a dying industry so he uses Warner Bros as a life raft to get off that sinking ship, which they can only afford because WB has tens of billions in debt. Then after a couple years he splits the companies back up, putting all of WB’s debt onto the cable networks business that’s on its way down anyway, allowing him to flip WB for an insane profit. Idk how any of that of legal but he finessed it.

They’re so desperate to prevent this split lol

It seems like everyone involved is not interested in Discovery as a split company.
Cus why not just wait till the split and lobby Paramount or others to purchase it?

Both options are absolutely terrible I don’t think anyone should be faulted for choosing either side if these are the only two avenues we have moving forward

Either the film industry is monopolized and theaters or killed OR the government is in bed with a major studio that’s funded by blood money

    Both ways we lost unfortunately
