    What the f***

  • Sherman

everybody’s being a doomer but like

any director that gives a s*** is just gonna take their movies literally anywhere else

them turning one of the biggest studios into a slop machine that just makes jarhead sequels is just gonna strengthen the indie studios like A24 and Neon if they can get big names on board

Would be amazing if a bunch of actors / directors leave Paramount over this

I'm sure they'll start their "theater initiative" with a wide release 4K restoration of birth of a nation

Trump getting CNN is the big issue here

That’s a way overblown concern. Ellison already owns TikTok. It’s a hydrogen bomb vs cough baby

  • Mac Wit Da Cheese

I feel like it’s just a ploy to show they’re doing their due diligence and hearing Paramount out but will end up with Netflix

    Idk s*** about s***

  • mjpplus

Netflix gonna put the numbers up and wrap it up

Same thing happened with Disney/Fox, Universal went higher before Disney closed it with an even higher bid

    Hmm…

Nathan escaped paramount just to get bought back by them

  • How long after the deal goes through will CNN shut down?

Wonder if all the people that came itt talking s*** about how horrible Netflix is will have the same energy about Paramount too, or if they only care about their bread and circuses

    exactly this

social media is what’s radicalising people the most not tv channels

if this was 20 years ago it would be a somewhat legitimate concern but now it doesn’t even matter

we’ve BEEN f***ed considering who owns X and now TikTok in the US + Meta consistently failing to give a s*** about this stuff since 2016

Both f***ing suck but Paramount winning was the worst result

Nate thought he was playing 4D chess when Paramount playing 5D

  • Oh brother

  • BlueDream

I will gladly pay a subscription every year to have new independent Nathan content that is not run by Paramount

They’re more likely to completely shut down CNN than to turn it into a propaganda machine. CBS News is already facing record-low viewership numbers and Bari Weiss will be fired by the end of the year. The TV market can’t support more conservative outlets and at the end of the day there’s shareholders to appease

  • Shin Chan

Exactly, but my point was always that if Netflix lost it would mean that Paramount won therefore it was unfortunately preferable for Netflix to win

oh don’t get me wrong it’s horrible especially considering the run WB were on literally right before this bullshit all kicked off

but my concerns about Netflix winning were always about the collapse of the theatrical industry and not ideological

bringing ideology into this is lowkey pointless as clearly almost all US corporations are glazing the current administration as hard as possible

let’s not act like even if Netflix had the money they wouldn’t have had to do the exact same s*** to get the deal through

they'll keep it around to continue pushing their "opposition" further right and to have a "radical left" news source to demonize to their base

idk; if multi billion $ corporations are rolling over n showing their bellies under this admin i wouldnt expect the vast majority of directors caring enough to pivot

The run WB was on happened under the watch of big Republican Zaslav. All this s*** was already controlled by conservatives.
