That building with the scouts being scared, titans surrounding it and the odm sequence was major major S1 vibes
They got vinland season 2 too now
Huh? Wit isn't doing s2?
Edit: yeah, just googled it
wait I'm dumb as hell, but why did the Titans continue to attack the Eldians if Eren controls them
Pretty sure he just didn't care to/maybe was just focused on the rumbling/his hate for the rest of the world because Reiner even said in the episode that he can control all Titans and we saw how far reaching his powers are with the hardening stuff

Thats what the characters are asking themselves too, there's probably an answer to it but we dont know yet

Mappa the gutter studio for anything WIT drops lmao
mappa just does not nail these sweeping action scenes like the previous studio
And they don't properly translate some manga panels.
Like, the scene where Eren takes a last look at his family when he's with Zeke. In the anime his expression looks resentful, but in the manga he looks sorrowful. These little details add a lot to his character, and they kinda miss the mark sometimes.
Damn. I liked Wit studio more.
You havent even seen a frame of mappa's adaptation

I mean yeah, but we've seen what they've done with this.
Didn't want to sound like a hater though. I'll still be watching
Y'all gotta remove those nostalgia glasses when looking at wit studio's aot adaptation. Season 1 is the best animated season overall still, but ever since s2 its been a downward spiral for them, i think final season part 2 is better animated than season 3 and 3 part 2, but people only remember the levi scenes in those 2 seasons and think the whole seasons were like that. And still, wit did deviate a lot from the manga, even making outright mistakes like mappa did. It was no perfect adaptation, and mappa's isnt either
If y'all think season 1 wit adaptation > every other season id agree, but season 2, 3 and 3 part 2 arent tbh, they got their highs and lows, just like mappa
i would like to see a fma: brotherhood style redux after some time has passed. maybe after a one punch man style manga redux that heavily improves the illustration

Wit did their changes with the manga as well. Mikasa found the Wall Titan instead of Armin

I think season 3 part 1 is also notorious for changing a lot of things in the manga for the worse, at least that's what ive heard

Nah imo wit definitely has a nicer artstyle. Like for example the white edges they add give a great sense of depth. In contrast, Mappa's looks way flatter.

I see where you're coming from, this though its more of a stylistic choice so it gets really subjective and personal. I personally prefer mappa's art style, its closer to the manga and fits this part of the story better, actually in this season particularly there's no flatness i can notice in the characters, but i never had any issues with wit's style, they didnt have much to work with considering isayama's drawing skills when the anime first dropped.

Season 3 part 1 needed whoever is in charge at Mappa, they do great work the less action orientated stuff.
For me if i had to rank my favorite seasons adaptation/animation wise it would be:

Yeah i agree, mappa is better at handling dialogue and exposition, while wit is better at handling action. Tbh the change of studio wasnt bad in retrospect, the story was slowly moving away from being action heavy when they got outside the walls so the action not being on s1 wit level didnt hurt that much

Yeah ofc, it's all subjective.
I love how gritty Mappa's artstyle looks - wish we had some of those crazy animation cuts again tho
