Also dangerous take, I totally can see why people see Eren as a hero with their situation. They have only grown up knowing titans. Then they find out why there are titans in the first place. Then they find out the world wants them eradicated.

But doesn't he contradict himself a couple of times and the series? He's always seems to regret and cry about what he's doing but he's like "oh well I still got to do it*

    Have you read the manga?

Under what circumstances did he do that tho? As @Stardust rightly said, in this episode he was genuinely honest about his motivations, with no pretense of false justifications.

When I say people, I mean the spectators of the show, not the eldians of the story.

It's crazy that 1. people can watch Eren commit these acts of extreme violence, 2. know his motivations, and still root for him. Scary mindset.

The moment he was crying to the child after he knows he's still going to kill everyone. Or was that just the burden being too heavy on him?

Yeah pretty much. It was him confessing his true intentions to one of his future victims.

Yet eren cries his heart out to ramzi and repeteadly states hes sorry for the rumbling, and thats because he got to sleep under the same roof as his enemies and got to know their side, as he says in liberio arc and ep 87.

The people inside paradis are as ignorant as the ones outside, both categorizing the other side as the inhuman enemy that just wants them dead without ever thinking that the world isnt as binary as they like to think and that there are many nuances that make living in this world hard. Floch, the frontman of the yaegerists, wants total annihilation of the outside world because to him it would end conflict, but when kiyomi presses him by saying that by doing that they'd only make the world smaller, not devoid of conflict. Floch doesnt have a rebuttal, in fact he outright states she's right. Erwin in season 3 tells pyxis human conflict will only end when only 1 person is left.

Lets also not forget that the world didnt start hating eldians for no reason, king fritz led a tyrannical rule over most of humanity for thousands of years with the power of the titans. If eren is right in killing immigrants treated as badly as outside eldians because of their treatment in history than marley had all the right to purge them for how the Fritz royal family ruined the world, which of course is dumb, since isayama's point is that humanity should try their best to put aside generational conflict and trauma, to get the children out of the forest and give them a better world in which the new generation can lead a more peaceful life, without forgetting or forgiving the errors of the past.

Eren isnt trying to change anything, eren is actively following the rules of the cruel world. Yes, paradis eldians wont die due to Marley if rumbling kills them all, they'll die instead if they disagree with the yeagerists or of any other human conflict, not unlike any of those that have happened in this series before our cast knew what Marley was. Lets not forget how the uprising arc started and how classism led to most of the deaths in the beginning of the series.

i gotta rewatch this convoluted ass show lmfao

they’ve taken so long with these final parts that I’m forgetting the intricacies of the plot

  • Mar 4, 2023

Before we knew what Marley was, without even putting titans in the equation, Armin got his parents and grandparents killed by humans, Erwin got his dad killed by humans, mikasa lost her family to human traffickers, levi grew up in the s***tiest slumps of the Island where death, disease and malnutrition ran rampante, historia's mom got killed, could go on with examples, and this is just the main cast. Yet the survey corp still fought for that same humanity, and still does despite there being marleyans out there who probably shouldnt get this sympathy. Yeah of course the people who perpetrated eldian hate outside the Island are very bad people and shouldnt be forgiven, but a global genocide wont get rid of the baddies forever. There are still good and innocent people like grisha's parents, pieck's dad, ramzi and halil, and so on, that dont deserve to be trampled.

I think that if you watch episode 64 you'll get your answer. But basically, at the beginning of that episode bertholdt recalls what an old man told the 3 warriors when they were hiding inside the walls, a confession of sort, before killing himself, and bertholdt wondered if that was the man's way to ask for judgement for his actions. The episode revolves around reiner doing that exact thing with eren in the basement, wanting to be judged by one of his victims. In the latest episode, eren also does this with ramzi. He finds one of his victims who cant understand his language and just let it all out, because in the end eren still has a heart, despite doing the rumbling, and couldnt hold the guilt inside any longer. He used ramzi to vent, just like reiner and the old man did. He feels guilty because killing all humanity no matter how evil you are will do that to you, but at the same time still tells him that his desire for freedom was too strong and he couldnt help but do it

"The phrase "peanut gallery" originates from Vaudeville in the late 1800s, where it was used to refer to the cheapest section of seats, usually occupied by people with limited means.1 It can also be used as a racial slur."
