Eren’s always been a psychopath but people were willing to accept and support him because he’s the main character they’ve watched from the beginning.

We all watched this little boy fill with piss and vinegar for 80 episodes, of course he would want to kill the rest of the world when he found out it wasn’t just seas and volcanos past the island.

Nor should they.

Ending was great even if Isayama didn’t give himself enough time to fully map it out to the point he needed to add extra pages in the manga book.

People who hated the ending are just mad they had a head canon of the ending in their head for years that didn’t come true.

Trust me, the rewatch makes it even more enjoyable. Seeing the actions of Reiner recontextualized

the whole tragedy of eren is that he is bound by fate thats why he sad all the time when he founds his fate.

It’s more than just it not being seas and volcanoes, it’s also a world that generally agreed all of his people should die and soon (regardless of the innocents we all saw how the representatives of the different nations felt about eldians/paradis and there’s no way in hell their people didn’t have similar feelings cause ignorance is contagious) so that made him more disappointed than anything.

The fact there were people outside the walls period that didn’t even attempt to make their presence known or try to help paradis over all these years yet still allowed Marley (and in some cases deported Eldians to Marley) to send Eldians to that island to eat their own people for generations. It’s pretty f***ed up

I mean, he literally says “when I learned that humanity lived beyond the walls…I…was so disappointed”.

He just couldn’t stand that they were there point blank let alone that they wanted him and his like dead.

This is from a side-story manga which Isayama authored. It is basically an alternate universe with the AoT characters (In which there are no titans and they are students) Pay attention to Eren's words in these panels.

For context, Eren had a dream where everyone was attacked by zombies, but when he wakes up and realizes it was just a dream, he starts crying in disappointment.

In my opinion, these panels are Isayama's way of basically confirming (somewhat indirectly) that Eren CRAVES conflict.

Honestly I feel that is true, but at the same time that the general thought process with majority of the world was to get rid of Eldians.

Despite how many people we saw that empathized with the Eldians pain there was a general sense of disdain still there. On the train even the conductor was still holding onto his hate. The general during the last stand air raid admitted that it took an apocalypse to snap them out of their hate.

I think he’s more selfish than anything, and has been from the beginning

He recognizes the atrocities he’s doing, feels somewhat some remorse for it

But opts to go through with it because that’s the best solution according to him and what he wants to do
