Yeah its so clear to me people who hate the ending mostly were too attached to their own version of aot they got in their heads. Like im sorry if i sound condescending but your version of the story isnt necessarily better because its yours, learn to judge a story for what It is!!!
Cant believe aot is one of the only series this even has to be said, but i guess when your popularity somewhat depends on mystery and theorycrafting, its only natural the diehards get obsessive to that point.
I literally gave it a 9.5 like 2 pages ago...
He did because he wanted to convince her not to sacrifice her bloodline for the partial rumbling plan. Eren is selfish, he wants his friends to live a good life, no matter the sacrifice. And the part about having a baby is historia protecting herself from being given the serum before eren's rumbling happens, because until she gives birth it would be too dangerous to transform her to a titan. And nothing in that dialogue implies historia wanted to have a baby with eren, i dont know why people wanted this to happen so bad.
Decent enough still think that plot point was not handled the best but you gave good reasoning.

It wasnt specifically about you, moreso about people who clearly hate the ending because it didnt match their theories.
Eren killing his mom was such a forced plot twist though how tf would he even do that?

Thats fair, it comes down to preference at the end of the day

Theres my long ass post in page 502 that explains what that means and how it happened, among other things. But basically the founding can see past, present and future at the same time, and can influence all titans, so he prevented dina from eating bertholdt, because aot has one timeline that cant be changed
The dialogue in erens and armins convo is still f***ing gross lol
The ending is fine but that s*** is such an important part of it and it sucks
People think that everyone who dislikes the ending are people that wanted eren to win
Naw s*** legit just could have been executed better

But Eren won.

How is it still gross? I think the anime made it so clearly against genocide that there's no way to interpret it any other way

Your assuming my issue cause that isn’t my main issue . That last convo was always way too blunt for me and tonally threw me off . This show for me has great pieces of dialogue throughout but for the game ending convo i just feel like it could have been handled much smoother
Slept on it, and I actually think as f***ed as the ending is… it’s the most “realistic”. Usually in life, things aren’t that dense at all. It could be a very simple reason that’s hidden behind mystery. Once that mystery gets unfolded, it’s never the same intensity. Eren is just a guy, an idiot like he says.
Still a couple things that make me question:
I always thought Mikasa had some hidden power. From the “lost girls” OVA, to the scarf being so significant. I truly believed SHE was the God of the world and had Eren (and everybody else) trapped in time.
Eren’s Titan changes form a couple of times pre-Warhammer. Wtf was that about?
Yelena… is there nothing more to her than being a lost Zeke sympathizer?
What was the point of making Historia a big plot point with a huge let down?
What’s with the baby in red at the end? What’s the significance there?
Is Eren a bird?
Poor choice of words. Wanted eren to kill everyone
80% is cool tho. Plus it protects his people and they get to live a full life without being s*** on
What happens in a 1000s yrs is on them people there.

I mean that wasn’t even the point of my initial post . I agree with you

Oh so you're against the whole concept of Armin and eren having a convo where the latter lets it all out? Well thats a new one, and honestly i can see why someone would have issues with it, to me it reminded me a lot of evangelion's last 2 episodes, which i absolutely love, but were controversial as well. But i wouldnt consider all that to be too blunt, at least in the manga. The anime is almost comically straightforward, which i dont like that much, i wished yams stopped giving a f*** about some smoothbrained opinions, but whatever.
But i can see where you're coming from for sure, i think isayama set it up this way to have 137 dedicated to armin, 138 to mikasa and 139 to eren, but that doesnt make it automatically good of course. And also he likes his mysteries so he kept eren's motivations and true feelings for the final chapter

using the founder and the attack titan to manipulate the smiling titan in that moment. Future Eren had already been playing around with past events already in order to get to that point wouldn’t say it’s out of his control considering Ymir seemed to have controlled the titan that out Zeke in his guts

I honestly just don't like it as a story decision. A big theme of the show is the cycle of hatred so eren killing his own mom which might make sense in terms of how he did with the time shenanigans. Doesn't work with me story wise especially as a huge plot point in the show.

I don’t think it necessarily goes against it because past Eren didn’t know what was going on. He doesn’t find out he was the cause until later.
