The moment when Jake and Neytiri see the memories of their son at the end almost had me about to tear up
that almost got me
@JohnCena to respond to your post in the other thread
You have to also remember his dad also had just saved his life too, when neytiri was about to stab him.
It was tough to see him save him but I think the movie made it very justifiable
yeah but he knew the Na'vi and Jake's family far longer than his dad(barely knew him) and practically grew up with them.
Risking the life of more Na'vi being killed by his father over an exchange of his life wasn't even remotely close to being equal.
If anything, Spider should've died instead of Neteyam if I'm being 100 with you.
I can see why someone would call the kids boring, but if this is going to be a universe and this is the base development for them, I can see where this ends up being a slow burn.
I kinda thought of them like the Stark kids. The oldest who got popped was basically Rickon to me. Not really any worthwhile moments on his own, but served as a development piece for other characters. I don't have any other parallels but Spider had Theon vibes to me lmao
I'm not going to pretend to know any of these f***ers names, but lil bro, mini Sigourney, and the lightskin girl that fw lil bro, I think they're all going to pretty worthwhile characters in A3 and all had good moments in this one too. Tuk is just gonna play the back I imagine
My brother brought up a good point
If they got the technology to store memories and make a genetic clone of people, why the f*** do they need that whale serum that stops people from aging
And why was it only used on like 5 soldiers who didn’t do their job right, why not get more capable hunters then the mfs that died the first time.
I get it was an excuse to bring back Stephen Lang but honestly saying he had a twin brother would’ve been less convoluted
spider was a bottom tier character smh
I wouldn’t have had a problem with him if his only contribution to the movie was to save Quaritch at the end. That boy had absolutely no reason to care for the dude. Maybe if they showed him having a bond or need for a bond with him but he was a whole baby when Quaritch died or if they showed them bonding more but in the latter half he disagrees heavily with the s*** he was doing to the Navii people and makes like 3 attempts to escape.
The moment when Jake and Neytiri see the memories of their son at the end almost had me about to tear up
Yeah they did a good job with that
Even though we didn’t get to know him as well as the other son
Some of the little bits of humor in the movie actually worked
Which I cannot say the same for the first movie

S*** got my ass I won’t lie
Beautiful scene man
man the way those soldiers are such typical like 80s soldier types is so funny
"YEAHH COLONEL GET SUMMM"

Maybe people still prejudice and don’t want to look like blue people but good point
The scene that got me the most emotional was when Lo’ak start talking about the way of water to his father

yeah pretty sure Cameron doesn’t like the military that much irl
So he always makes them dunderheads
This movie didn’t do anything for me tbh. Essentially the same story with the same bad guy
One thing I didn’t understand though. Earth was dying right? Why was getting that age stopping serum a priority then?
this movie might actually have goated themes, set up, payoffs, and ideas and it's held back by middle school level dialogue bruh. the potential here is way more insane than the writing is doing.
the relationships dynamics that come to a head in the end are set up so perfectly with Quarritch and Spider,
and Spider and Neytiri tension.
then with Kiri and Spider, and
Quarritch and Jake.
And Loak and the older brother
plus Loak and Jake like f***kkkk
@shaleirose I dont think Quarritch is as one note as the first movie at all anymore. Neytiri calling his bluff about not caring for Spider was the first instance of what I think will be an interesting arc. Spider returning the favor and saving him also will come into play.
There's a lot of ways they can go with this, Spider can get pulled to the darker side if Neytiri continues to see him as a threat, she deadass almost killed him this movie and he's gonna remember that. Or Spider pulls Quarritch into the lighter side because of the small love he showed his son in this movie.
I also like that Quarritch is actually walking in the shoes of Na'vi now. Pandora is his home cause he can't really go back to earth, I think he's going to learn to appreciate what he previously hated.
