Jammuhballed my eyes out at the end when they visited Neteyam and seeing Jake cry because he could see him again. that s*** hurt my feelings. this is also f***ing wild because we literally spent no time with him at all and for his death to have such an emotional impact was proof of how well executed the family’s storyline was.
man this movie was exhilarating and beautiful and so heartfelt. absolutely cliche in so many ways yet you don’t care or feel it as much because you’re so entranced by this world and want to continue to be in it.
didn’t expect the story to be so focused on the kids, was thinking that would be for Avatar 3 but they made this film so interesting and different from the first. f*** this movie was awesome. probably my favorite of the year. truly well done and just continues to make me reinvested in this story.
f*** spider though jesus what a stupid character especially after that dumb ass move to save his dad only to go back to Jake and the family. guess that’ll be the big problem in A3.

ya I get that, and it's really cute, i think im just mad at the choice James did in writing that generic storyline of saving his dad. im kinda over the Colonel being the villain story.
im just waiting for the eventual Spider Avatar though. feel like he deserves one

Start of the movie the kids are speaking the Navi language… then Jake says in the narration “eventually it all started to sound like English it me”
Then everything from then on was English. We are seeing the movie through Jake’s narration and what he hears is all English

2nd watch i was keeping an eye on him whole movie so i kept tearing up multiple times when he was interacting with Jake knowing what was gonna happen
then when Lo'Ak came to Jake when he was in the ship and Jake said "Neytayam?
" and Loak said no it's just me dad,Loak saving him and Jake finally saying "i see you son" bro im tearing up rn just thinkin bout it

same generic story as the first one more or less, just with beaches instead of a forest
no stakes in whether the villain dies or lives cause they can just reclone him anyways
how many times did they have to use the "kids going where they were told not to" trope to advance the story
also found the 3d effects pretty underwhelming. thirteen years of advancing technology but the first film used 3d better imo
the dialogue was very bad
some parts I liked and the three hours went by fairly quickly, but this was pretty disappointing and not sure I'd watch the third one

I am not sure if this has been covered , but at the end, the two armies were fighting and then everyone just disappeared? I know the human army was decimated, but all of the water people's army just vanished??

Must have been...I get they weren't the focus, but did not like the entire army just disappearing...also thought talking to the whales without connecting to them with the braids/internet connection was another confusing thing...I guess since they Said they were smarter then everyone the Na'vi could just have conversations with them?
