He was cast for X3 in 2006, missed out on appearing in that and Origins Wolverine (2009), started working on a solo movie around 2014, showed up at SDCC 2015 to promote it, and then it was in straight development hell until 2019 when Disney cancelled it following the FOX purchase.

Prior to Deadpool & Wolverine, he described this experience as traumatic and said he couldn't watch MCU movies anymore, so I'm happy he got a second chance in DP&W and made it to an Avengers movie.

if you're willing to watch a mid movie then The Marvels, it actually has an important connection but I have a feeling they're gonna ignore it cause the movie bombed.

Probably won't have much of a connection except for the character being present but Shang Chi is a good movie worth watching, same director as Brand New Day.

True they might just ignore it but interestingly we have not seen a single shot in trailers or leaks with Dooms mask off. The reveal at the end could be not only is he taking Iron Man mantle but also reconstructs his face to look like Stark

It should definitely amount to something or else they just spent 100M on masked up RDJ for nothing lol. My personal guess is that since the Avengers and their history don't exist in F4, Victor Von Doom is either figuratively or literally the "Tony Stark" of that universe or vice versa.

But it's also funny how we expect an answer for Doom and Stark being the same actor in the franchise where Steve Rogers looks like 2005 Human Torch, fake Quicksilver looks like X-Men Quicksilver, and Kevin Bacon is an actor in the MCU but plays a villain in First Class.

If they want to avoid rehashing Infinity War, they could throw in a glimmer of hope in the cliffhanger like Across the Spider-Verse did
