and yet most of his filmography post-MCU has been garbage. 99% of it to be exact.
Not true. In addition to an Oscar winning performance in Oppenheimer, he just came off of The Sympathizer, a show where he plays 5 different characters exceedingly well

I don’t believe he should have won that Oscar at all lol I know he did and no one can change that but I found that roll to be not interesting what so ever.
Damn I didn’t feel Tony Stark at all. His appearance, the way he spoke , his body language…nothing about it felt like Stark to me
That's what I'm saying. The distance between Tony Stark and that performance seems to be where the praise comes from.
Oldman and Affleck blew me away in one scene. RDJ's performance seems graded on the curve of "wow Tony Stark becomes different guy"
So that sounds more like an association bias. Like how Denzel can be a completely different character in a completely different setting, so a great job selling that character, but Training Day or Equalizer Zel is always in the back of the mind
I just feel like if you going to use RDJ for Doom then just go all in with the multiverse shenanigans cause otherwise what’s really the point
RDJ was in Oppenheimer? And he won an Oscar for it?? I don’t remember him in it at all

No I think the distance between them is what people were lauding. Denzel could lose 20lbs and do a wig or something. He's comfortable just using his signature gravitas.

Signs of a good actor tbh
The way people have been trying to discredit RDJ’s acting ability these last few days has been wild to me
the thing people do now is attempt to insert twitter stan brain-ism into film but its just not that kind of thing, you make yourself look dumb outside of that sphere of dweebs
He’s been in two movies post-Endgame and one of them was Oppenheimer
I'm talking about from Iron Man to now. Outside of Tropic Thunder which came out the same year and Oppie. that's 2 good movies, the rest has been Oscar bait trash or lame attempts at a big franchise.

“The rest” is like 3 movies that all came out in 2009 and 2010 dawg
From 2012 to 2019 he was in literally one single non-MCU film

yeah exactly you're proving my point lol He gets to choose to do whatever he wants yet his choices are complete s***.

You talking about literally 3 random mid-budget films that released almost fifteen years ago

my response was to a post praising him as one of the few actors who gets to do whatever he wants so I'm judging the films he CHOSE to do lol
they were trash sorry.

Why are you so focused on those 3 specific movies that released in back-to-back years?
Besides Doolittle, the other films he’s been in since the MCU are all pretty solid, and The Sympathizer is great too

Sherlock Holmes? meh and The Sympathizer is a tv series that I don't even care to watch. I'm just not going to praise RDJ for simply being in a position to star in whatever when he doesn't use his star power to get good films off the ground. He's just been coasting off Marvel money since his comeback and every role he's taken so far has been a calculated money move (even Oppie)
It's too late to even his star power now tho.

Sounds like you just mad that he’s the face of capeshit

2nd most important character to the plot of the film, probably just didn’t recognize him

Such an uninteresting performance

Denzel is always denzel for most part
