Alchemist said he got records with her and that she was really rapping on em so who knows.

That single might have been some little teaser s*** just to ease her fans into that

yeah that’s what i was thinking

we’ll just have to see, she can fr rap, her SoundCloud catalog is phenomenal

And I think that stuff applies to all rap because rap is a black genre consumed mostly by white folks.

I dont tax Lil baby and Youngboy because their music is for white kids who want to live out hood fantasies or whatever, thats not their fault. It only matters if the music is being made to intentionally appease those white people and I dont see any reason to believe it is.

Lol it’s not at all the same. Kendrick much more of a white token.

Lil Baby & YoungBoy never getting the shoe-in rapper wins/noms at the Grammys every year. They never gonna be a white token to the point of being in THOSE spaces.

honestly im just pretty satisfied with the idea of Doja trying something different rather than just staying within her niche regardless, there hasn’t really been any mainstream artists trying to break out of their box (besides Drake w/ HVNM, i suppose) so i can at least appreciate the mindset tbqh

i wasn’t too keen on the single myself, but it certainly wasn’t terrible lol

Just sounded like average rap s*** to me, kinda boilerplate but inoffensive.

Of course Azealia had to use an OK song as an excuse to get off a rant about an entire coast and her modern contemporaries.

She's right about Doja. But the record is still very fire.

Of course, but the logic still applies imo.

The music has never been intentionally made to appease those white people, hes just making the music that he feels and white people are doing what they will with it. Judging him because white people are weird about rap music is silly to me.

kendrick can be a white token (which yes, he is) and also a very very great artist

youngboy and lil baby don’t have the vision that kendrick has to put together any of the albums that he’s done so far lmao, that’s not a knock on them but it just comes down to how each artist approaches music

I mean the Kendrick fans the ones who base everything on his acclaim, awards, etc so.

You can’t refuse to acknowledge how the Grammys, Pitchfork, and all these music bodies are full of the white ppl that use him as a token lol.

FACT: Kendrick is an incredible artist.

(also) FACT: White people in positions of power in media use him as a token for what ''real'' rap is.

  • Jun 16, 2023

Ya using stans of an artist to discredit an artist is so stupid lol

They've been doing that with Beyonce as well since she became ''woke'' lmao.

  • Azealia needs to stop posting instarants and get her dumbass in the studio and put that s*** on wax lil baby

Im not refusing to acknowledge it, it is just a fact that he is used by white people as a representation of their ideal of hip hop.

But I dont allow it to influence how I consume his music. He is both a “token” and a genius artist.

Simply having a vision doesn’t mean it was executed greatly.

Kendrick be getting passes just for that when he should be called out like any other artist for dropping something underwhelming lol
