Is this who I think it is
I doubt you remember my previous UN's
You have issues. So you don’t even think you deserve a successful and happy career yourself because of your looks?
In the entertainment industry? No. Is that the only industry?
I don't believe that first statement about tde come up, those niggas were dusty for a long time, kendrick looked like a chump back then, but they took their time and became what he helped built. To me, with kendricks connections and reputation, this company is doing well
As for sound, you can concede that they haven't done much, tmb is a good indicator of keems new sound and MM is really a tde venture, I'd say let's wait and not s*** on it already damn
I’m not saying it’s doomed but Im just being real that it ain’t looking great
You’re right about TDE but they had to start from square 1. Kendrick has a head start with the connections money and rep so there shouldn’t really be as much of a slow building up period like this. And they definitely took the wrong direction with Keem as an artist imo
150k or whatever isn’t great for a Kendrick Lamar comeback album after 5 years and a Pulitzer lol. It’s decent
Where did you get 150k lol
The album did just under 300k fw
296k to be exact iirc lol
Which is more than 98 percent of the genre
And the album is plat
Kendrick outsold every Cole release that has came out since kendricks hiatus with mmbs just to let yall know too lol
Morale was a disappointment regardless of what the tour numbers are. He’s trending downward and is a legacy act off the old albums now
Morale was a great album. Idk what people expected. He made a grown man album

I think someone said that earlier and I forgot, that’s my fault I’ll have to take the L there. That is still a good to great first week
But the overall impact still feels like it wasn’t great for Kendrick’s standards. Not much staying power really
Hey kids can you guess what year this user joined KTT2?
…………….
That’s right, it’s this year! 2024!!
How is joining in 2020 any better? Most of us been here before and we’re kanyetothe members. Y’all weird with this “member since” hypocrisy

Hence they are with fashion houses already and producing movies, look af the budget for the concert bro, he dont have label money anymore, as a fan, I appreciate Dave being freer and kendrick beginning a new path. But we'll agree to disagree on keem, I feel he's got some fire , the last tape had great moments, but we'll see, I'll concede that he should probably avoid being mysterious, kendrick was all over the place first half of 2010s

Circumstances around that time were what they were, and after covid, audience apathy was immeasurably high, and the sound was... a left turn, ain't attacking on this point btw, engaging
Jay Z
How tf is going platinum in 6 months a flop? Big Steppers is successful. Drake doing those type of numbers with his albums
His tour was mostly his newest album & his album did great lol
This is not it
I still don't understand what people wanted outside of morale. I have yet to hear what everyone who was disappointed actually wanted
Idc though let them be disappointed I thoroughly enjoyed morale

I actually like the content. But obviously he wanted to make a thoughtful big statement album but more accessible than TPAB and I think that execution just didn’t quite hit
It’s obvious that certain songs are just there to give him some more stream friendly songs and that would probably be fine if those records were done better and actually impacted. But there’s like 4 bland ass wannabe hits on there for no reason
Then on the other hand I feel he went too far left with We Cry Together
I see what he was going for I just don’t think he pulled it off. It’s off putting and compromising at the same time

Bruh he had no promo at all. No less single, no big features. All he had was a tour
We Cry Together is def trash tho
I f*** with the album but the hate it got was unnecessary
I doubt you remember my previous UN's
Maybe not, thought you were Malafe
He just always calling himself ugly

I would’ve rather he leaned fully into the “piano” sonic theme of the albums core songs and ditched most of the baby Keem/trap adjacent songs, they didn’t help the album that much
And cut We Cry Together. It don’t need to be a double album
That’s a start. The problem is it’s trying to do too much and doesn’t really do either perfectly as a result. Since it ended up being not a huge hit album anyway he might as well have not made all those streaming compromises
