HOV INNOCENTThe tour was off of Kendrick’s reputation that he built on his previous albums and as a live performer and isn’t really correlated with the album. If the correlation were there, then surely the album itself would’ve been a more resounding success, but it’s impact was muted
Platinum debut is cool but keem’s ceiling was once higher than it is now imo. They basically chose to present him as a sidekick to a declining artist over potentially making his whole own brand and impact. Keem didn’t have to be marginalized into the JID/Reddit rap audience he could’ve been more successful sticking with his original less pretentious/artsy vibe and have more women fans and casual fans that way and probably feel more current
Would people go to the tour if they really weren't f***ing with the album like that and it led to him being a "legacy artist" like you say? Tbh, I'm not a fan of the album either. But I'm not going to act like my opinion is fact, plenty of people love the album
TMB the only Keem project I listened to, so I can't really speak on his original sound. But holy s*** if that album is pretentious/artsy compared to it

what we doing here As far as Morale, if all those people that went to the tour played the album it would be more successful than it was. I’m not saying no one liked it. But it wasn’t nearly as successful as it could’ve been and it has everything to do with the project and direction not resonating on a high level
