Really good movie based off of a short mini series. I was worried it was going to be corny or couldn't hold itself up with a 2 hour run time. Kane did well.

Landslide? Chill, I’ve got it third after Obsession and Hokum (though I could see it topping Hokum for me after a while)

Very good. It handled the web series vibes and the Hollywood production vibes very well. The acting was great. Renate killed it. Those acting scenes were standout. I think the found footage potions were killer. I don’t think it over explained the lore. Lot of Sun imagery I noticed. I’ll respond with more when I get home.

I mean for people who followed this on 4chan and YouTube for 7 years I get or expect this to be their top . How did you like it ? Reactions online are all over the place lots of mention of LOST, David lynch and other things . Love of the found footage aspect . Debate over third act .

Someone said Inland is comparable. I was like ehhh, I can see how you could make that connection. this is a plot that becomes centered on Clark’s mind like how Lynch played with Nikki’s mind and reincarnation aspects there (I need to do a yearly rewatch btw)

I also don’t know how I always end up beside the most annoying people. This time I was beside an older lady. I don’t know why she was in this movie this late but alas. The first ten minutes I swear she was digging through her purse or backpack just pulling things out and looking at them. Then she settled in and it became clear she didn’t know what this movie was. Maybe she was here for the main actor idk. She was also like kicking her feet and resting around during intense moments. Going at like 4-5pm seems to be my sweet spot for nice showings.

Thinking back… I really liked the misremembered humans. I thought there weee pretty freaky looking and added nice visual spice to the table scene with Mary and Clark. the wide shots he did and the outdoor establishing/transition shots I thought looked great. This is a very good Dolby movie.

Christmas tree room was great and pretty spooky. The dirty laundry room was good. I wish we got the red street from Pitfalls. The big Captain Clark was a little ehh to me. Wish it was the Lifeform. Iirc he was briefly seen, but I may be wrong.

Either way glad 18-24 year olds showing up in mass for a movie even if I don’t get the hype . Will see Monday or Tuesday. Keeping expectations low
