    Part of it too is definitely the fact Hov’s voice seemed to be getting a little higher in that era, it makes it sound harsher than Jay Elec does with the rough sound I think. Also cause we’re used to hearing Jay really clean and produced, even some songs on Vol 1 can be a little jarring to hear him in lower quality. That said yeah that verse should’ve been turned down a little probably and EQd better
