What's the sample brockhampton used?
At the very end of Baby Beats a voice goes “yea”
Now go listen to Milk by Brkckhampton and you’ll hear it instantly
It’s on a ton of tracks but very easy to hear on Milk
came back to read
i really thought i knew a lot about jai and PI, but op put me onto some real obscure facts in here
@safe bless u

You should start a music blog bro
I’ve thought about it but the issue would be that it’s so hard to grow a site like that whereas here I get the discussion and views from the go

their story is so f***ing perfect besides the leak. 2 timeless amazing songs that grant them legendary status then an unfinished album that cements them as all time legends. Like wtf why cant others be blessed like that

Oooh it's the yeah sample I absolutely see what you're talking about crazy it comes from a Jai Paul track
He’s cool but part of what OP said about what makes Jai unique is what I hated about his debut
The vocals going in and out and sounded like they’re skipping.... just ruining the vibe of a lot of songs. It just sounds bad to me
Jasmine still a masterpiece tho obviously but it bugs me a lot
another quality thread
Super cool write up. Everybody go listen to the Paul Institute EP!!!
Bait Ones been on repeat the entire week

That’s fair tbh
That demo style isn’t for everybody
Probably his most polarizing aspect
@safe good read and history, but actual genuine question, do you know what Jai Paul does to make money? Did Jasmine/BTSTU really make enough money he can live off of residuals? He doesn't do any guest production like his brother does and I doubt XL is giving him infinite funding, but he seems to have enough money to do whatever he wants like fund the Paul Institute

It’s a topic of debate for people
He definitely makes some money off residuals and off samples - now that Care Package is streaming
His XL advance was likely fairly sizable and they’ve kept him on the roster so he’s doing well on that front
Paul Institute was initially funded by this guy Muz Azar who’s apparently a tech billionaire and basically gave them a ton of funding to do their thing
But it seems like there might have been legal issues that arose and he’s no longer credited as being involved
So at this point I really don’t know. They have enough money that their artists can work full-time on music and quit their jobs and are obviously expanding Paul Institute still w new artists so they must be getting money somewhere
They do have a deal with Adidas though that might be part of it
