Days with Yen Lo is not as good as Act I, but it’s in that same tier of elite rap projects imo

I’ll check it out. Thanks for the share

Could you in good faith say Ka has something comparable to better in tune? Or Act 1. Bar for Bar

    I could, in good faith:

I was actually about to come in this thread and say that I'd put Ka above Jay Electronica. Glad someone beat me to it.

    crazy. Ka > Jay

Lyrically he’s the most consistent. And he’s mostly his own producer

As much as I like Jay Electronica, he's someone I'd put into the "My very first underground rapper" tier. Definitely good. But there are better.

On top of that he's not even better than one of the niggas he emulates the most in regards to rap technique. MF DOOM.

I look at like this: You can be the CEO for Chick Fil A and you can be A Franchise owner for Chick Fil A. Jay Elect is the CEO. Ka is a Franchise owner. No matter how dope Ka is, he’s not changing the paradigm for rap. His skill set falls under a predetermined context, just like a FO for Chick Fil A. Despite what people feel like he did with his talent, Jay carved out a lane where he could take his career where he wanted because his brand of music. CEO’s make those types of decisions. Being a franchise owner for A Chick Fil A would be a major accomplishment, but it’s not the same as being a CEO.

Ka is undeniably Good as f*** at rapping, but he’s not Jay Elect.

Feel like Earl implemented some of what made Jay great (he cited him and Andre as influences during IDLSIDGO/Solace era) and made it more palatable for us young dudes.

Yeah his biggest problem. You have to cue in real hard or not listen at all, there’s no throwing him on in the background. He also repeats street themes, but it’s eloquent.

I agree with Synops for once

I’m not gonna lie tho,on an artistic level,he’s rap game Frank Ocean.
