Old cribs I sold, y'all drive by like monuments
Google Earth Nas; I got flats in other continents
Yeah that was crazy
Also the slick Jeezy diss: "N-s I mentioned on One Love, came home to the paper in hand. You ain't gotta brag about the feds, Young Man"
"Worst enemies wanna be my best friends, best friends wanna be enemies like that's what's in".. captured what "success" is like perfectly, and once again, this that s*** that makes you THINK
Nas was always the deeper more philosophical rapper. Got his ass easily
Yeah I feel the same. As amazing as his writing and production are, I wish he would switch it up some more. Curious to see what a different flow would look like for him
@TweedDiadoras
Just to know he can flow like this:

for sure, one of my fav Ka joints. he KILLED this. first feature in like a decade after a hiatus too. helluva comeback
@TweedDiadoras
Just to know he can flow like this:

Yeah that song is insane. Throughout Iron Works he explores cool flows, but it’s just so dated and he just doesn’t rhyme with that intensity anymore
“My life rest in a .45, aim for the head, chest fortified”
You don't love Nas and aight get outta here lol
Nas shat on him. You're the first person I've ever seen who even says this lol.
Jay's delivery was kinda clumsy, like he kept trying to find his pocket on that beat, and for the most part wasn't really saying s***.
He was pretty good overall.. but Nas went in like a supervillain at the end, with a flow that cuts like a knife, and snatched the track from him with ease.
"Why is life worth living? Is it the hunt for the s*** that you want? To receive's great, but I lust GIVING". GAME OVER at this point. The rest was amazing too.
Nas will always be superior to Jay, and that's that on that.
how you gonna tell me i dont love nas lmao

Lmaoooo if you think cole better than electronica you need to see a doctor bruh
Please enlighten me on how you objectively measure rapping ability. Oh that’s right, you f***ing can’t, and you’re not going to offer an explanation on how you can, you’re going to give another one liner that you think is clever
Thank f*** OP isn’t a mod anymore, cos he would’ve locked the thread ASAP as is typical of him
Jay Electronica is still a legend though
Fam even if I am, this topic is serious to me and idk why you won’t offer a solid explanation of your point instead of these one liners. Between you and me I like to rustle the jimmies of drake stans every now and then, but my presence on this site isn’t strictly on some troll s***, I’ve been here since 07 and I’ve known of you and had respect for you for a decade. I definitely like to have fun on here but this isn’t really one of those times, I’m trying to understand your point and legitimately argue against it
I love Jay Elec’s body of work so much. Getting Act 2 was a really special moment for me and Real Magic in particular has really been helping me with my current mind state
I would never argue with someone saying he was their GOAT
The reason I’m arguing with you is because you’re saying so firmly that he’s the objective GOAT. And I have two issues with that because it’s very clear to me that 1. There is no GOAT and 2. If we are to try and use objective measurements to somehow determine a true GOAT, it cannot under any circumstances be Jay Electronica.
You really connect with dude and I respect that. The artist who connected with me most in the blog era was Charles Hamilton. I’ve spoken with him directly multiple times and to me, he put out at least 20 perfect classic albums in 2008 and 2009 alone. He has made more music than anyone in history besides Lil B and Viper (which are debatable) and in my opinion he has more classic albums than any other rapper has albums.
But am I going to make a thread saying he’s the objective GOAT just because I connect with him most, just because he saved my life on multiple occasions? No because I’m not delusional. Once you try to make it objective, all this “well this song is better” stuff goes out the window. The closest we can get to objectivity in music is mass subjectivity. That’s just the fact of the matter. You saying Better In Tune With The Infinite is better than Ice Ice Baby means less than nothing if we are attempting to take it into an objective place
Your desire to make art objective is understandable, but it’s also surprising to me that you don’t see how pointless and futile it is
If you think there’s an objective GOAT then that’s you
But then to think that the answer would be Jay Electronica, an answer clearly based on your feelings and no objective measures? Lmao maybe you are trolling me
You’re real as f***, holy s***. Respect man
Thank f*** OP isn’t a mod anymore, cos he would’ve locked the thread ASAP as is typical of him
Jay Electronica is still a legend though
You're mad
You're mad
Go lock a thread you disagree with. Oh wait you can’t
Jay Electronica still a legend though
Bar for bar @op is a meatball
Crazy how this take is still incorrect
Truth be told Jay E just isn't fun and cool enough
Imagine him getting on this track and spitting some hocus pocus bars

love what you wrote in op @op
jay elect is a huge influence
on me for every reason you listed
it'll be interesting to see how
the narrative around his legacy ends up
because i feel like he's
easily one of the greatest
ever but i feel like the oddness
of his career might deter from that
which i think is a conversation
we need to start having in Hip Hop
Wait he said Armed for strong-arm and too impatient to plan a heist
And how you handle fights determine if you man or mice
But soon taught this ain't true sport if you a fan of life
Start to gather what you rather: six feet or get hand a vice
I choose the op to excuse a lot, just don't deceive me
Not at all spoiled if the hard-boiled never got over easy
Where it's clear it's never acceptable to turn to jakes
I impress to you, become a vegetable or learn the stakes ??
