Hmm thought it would be about the original characters like leon
In tho
kinda wish it was. But Welcome to Raccoon City was horrible so maybe they need to get away from the games
Cmon which one was truly great? The Anderson films might as well be called “Alice + some Resident Evil characters who are underserved”
Welcome To Raccoon City had it visually but the characterization was still off

All of the PWSA films are good to great, and also "had it visually". Retribution is damn near a masterpiece. Formally it is leagues above most other films that came out at the time, let alone any RE media by other directors since.

I think my standpoint is that there hasn’t been a Resident Evil movie that lives up to the source material. I thought the first PWSA movie was solid, and it works as a prequel to the story of the games.
When I say “had it visually” I mean more of a sense that it looks like an adaption of the games. Outside of Jill’s costume, the design of Nemesis in the 2nd one, and the Licker (which being the “final boss” of the first one is hilarious), going into the post Apocalyptic setting totally separates the films from the games just by looking at it.
Now I know that the movies shouldn’t be totally beholden to the games, but the original franchise seemed to do as much as it could to separate themselves from the games while including base level things to say “we’re based on the games!”
That’s just my issues with that series

Oh yeah i gotcha. I really dont care that the PWSA films werent faithful to the game narratives/look. I wouldnt mind seeing an RE film or series that was faithful, but I def wasnt watching PWSA's stuff for that. I think they stand on their own.
Wouldnt mind seeing someone do an actual adaptation of like Code Veronica or something tho

27:54 minutes in Zach says the movie ‘lives more within the world of 2 and 3, but adheres to the tone of 4’
So it’s probably a racoon city movie
Also the movie shoots from October to January
There's a Sicario 2?
These movies may be largely trash but they can be fun and have their place.
The very first one has some classic scenes, like the intro on the elevator, and the scene when the zombies first show up and the one with the ax and broken foot shows up, and of course the laser room
There's a Sicario 2?
deadass watched the first 5 mins and could tell immediately no one who worked on the first movie understood the point and turned it off
Some new details in the new THR cast announcement scoop
Cherry is said to be playing a scientist at a hospital, while Reis is an ex-military character that was originally written for a male actor.
Plot details for this one are being kept under the umbrella but here are some key words: hapless courier, mysterious package, mutated creatures, corporate conspiracy.
Sounds like RE to me

Loving the wordplay with ‘under the umbrella’
