    It is kinda funny how you can read into this film as being an indictment on the independent, corporate development of AI.

    The developers of it being depicted as a bunch of bumbling, cowardly and incompetent morons with no government oversight creating the most shortsightedly inane s*** possible with the absolute flimsiest of contingencies in place if things go south, resulting in Hell on Earth being unleashed.

  • I thought yall were exaggerating with the humor critique given the usual campiness of RE but yea some of the humor felt shoehorned and was more on the cheesy side

    Still pretty good aside from that

    My post credits is someone next to me left a backpack and was likely drunk . I was nervous to report if or what it was so I just left . If the place was blowing up I would rather hear about it on news than blow up

    I mean some of them yes don’t get me wrong but do I think it was worth dealing with fans for the amount it did ? No personally . The jokes didn’t land for me which would be okay in itself but there are moments there was just a tonal mismatch even more than some of his other movies

    I think everyone should see for themselves and hope others love it

    At times it feels this deserved to be a TV show and not the Last of Us. That isnt to s*** on the last of us but rather Last of Us 1 and 2 feel like a 2.5-3 hour movie each. This feels like its trying to shotgun emotional beats, comedic beats , lore beats all into one. What we wind up getting is a world where we both wish we could spend more time in but often the tone doesn't match the events of the movie. Yes I know its based on a game with jokes. But The resident evils I have played balance it a bit better than this for me. Something genuinely felt missing. Felt the jokes and some of the references were a bit of jingling keys to cope with other parts of it.

    I may be Weapons> This >= Barbarian

    I truly dont know . I dont think I will rush to rewatch this one

    the tweets that spoiled the ending by acting like they were guessing the ending when they were referring directly to the leaked script are going to hell. Him getting bit by a child so early on with the audience knowing then him not telling the truth because he wanted them to instantly cure him is just mixed. I guess it fits what he said earlier of selfish not ready to grow up but the "bit person doesnt tell people" thing then cure falling to doom. I dont know I like that it wasnt a happy ending but the ending was undoubtedly messy

    I mean that kind of just applies to zombie outbreak at all and now applies to covid epidemic or in general researching diseases risking the spread of disease

    I just walked out and got a refund. Got to the scene where the lady leaves PWH and the main guy in the car.

    Thats about 45 mins or so into the movie. No exaggeration, nearly every single line of dialogue was comedic. Those 45 mins had more jokes in it than the entirety of Shaun of the Dead. The main guy walking around saying Joss Whedon nonsense to himself constantly.

    I cant support this bullshit. F*** that.

    This isn’t divisive for taking major swings . If anything the swing at the end is part of what I like. It’s the humor and tonal mismatch / dialogue I have an issue with
