bryan is solely the most consequential person in raccoon city at this current time. motherfuckin jill, claire and leon sound like notes IN HIS game!!

yeah I think that is a fair representation of him. I just think he felt too much like a streamer for me. too addressing the audience

most consequential person but his demise comes from reaching out for a child to attempt to deal with his fear of having one in reality. As well as selfishly lying multiple times and not acknowledging the fact he was infected. I lowkey think it would have been a better twist if when he met the umbrella people with cure he told them that he was infected and the outright killed him then we saw them try to get it back and the briefcase essentially kept switching hands til eventually it made it to umbrella corp. Would have loved to essentially see an anthology of storeis and many keep exchanging the briefcase to deliver the cure. I dont think Bryan was that great of a main character for me

and the simple bite turns him into birkin-esque monster which we know only comes from direct injection not bite, matter fact there's almost zero standard t-virus zombies in the entire movie

yeah the little girl had the tentacle looking thing too so wasnt surprised he turned like that some but wondering why she was mutating like that. Implies her mom is also a miniboss lookng one too. Ending got spoiled for me and I thought he would turn into a standard zombie. I thinkt he final scene would play out a lot funnier if he was the standard zombie to start then started taking out each scientist and it played with suspense more than just goofy using a fire extinguisher and things. thats me though. I think the ending is a good idea executed in a way that is all over the place

something i didnt like aboot it, matter fact all of the cregger movies, is that creggar is kind of one note in the humour department. all of his "funny" characters sound the EXACT same. it's most notable in this movie since there's three "funny" characters - bryan, paul walter houser, zach cherry.

Bryan is not a well written character to me but Austin Abrams does a great job with it. Many characters in this movie just feel absurd to not a well geling together way for me.

in the games there is humor but it gels together better and is less winking at the camera for me than here . It takes what it needs to take serious serious and jokes about other things.

also a lot of the people celebrating the creature design I got to say the creatures reminded me of rat king, clicker more than resident evil but I have only played so many of the games

play all 30 you'll never find none of that s***

so essentially is what makes this movie have the spirit of the games

-padlocks
-jokes
-umbrella corporation existing
-finding new guns throughout the movie
-moving from location to location

which many of this has existed in Zombie movies games and books throughout all of time even before resident evil existed ?

Assuming this becomes a franchise, which it most likely will since it's gonna be financially successful, what direction would y'all wanna see them take in a sequel?

• Continuation of this Raccoon City + aftermath/fallout of the ending?
• Adaptation of one of the games in Raccoon City taking place around the same time (RE1, RE2, RE3) & introduction of fan-favorite characters?
• Anthology approach, visiting another iconic setting from the games (RE4, Biozhazard, Requiem, Code: Veronica, etc.) and either telling an original story within it or adapting one of those stories?
• Something else entirely?

If all of these things combined doesn't make something faithful to Resident Evil, then what is it that makes Resident Evil unique as an IP to you?

I think when people say they don't want the games adapted, they mean in the sense of adapting them 1:1, because then at that point the question becomes why watch the movie if you could just play the game. That's why (modern) games are a tricky thing to adapt because they already have a cinematic element baked into them. It's not like a book where you're literally bringing something to life that only existed on a page before

at a point it just takes the right vision

people said the same about the last of us

the last of us is my top 1 game of all time and when they said they were makin a show out of it i was like "nawwwwww" but season one of that s*** was BETTER. a ton of last of us diehards will say the same.

is resident evil immune to that same treatment? i think NOT
