What am I supposed to watch Sundays now? I’m sure as hell not watching the idol.
The scalpel stuff was absolutely Cinema Sins tier.
The Jim stuff is just a weird hangup. Sorry he's not the only faultless character in the show. You clearly had some showdown fantasy that wasn't met. Instead they used his character to critique what he represented. It works thematically. It works tonally. It works narratively.
"showdown fantasy"
no not really his daughter was brutally murdered and he operated outside of the law the entire show so seeing him on tv after he had both the people he wanted dead right in front of him was odd.
I get it works thematically for the millionth time lol
You’re welcome. Did you like the ending?
overall yes. Sally got a resounding ending
No Ho Hank about what I would expect even though I felt Fuches reading him to filth again was a little too on the nose
Got a Grand Theft Auto like finale
But again I ask Sally killed in self defense so why did they spend the whole season having her feeling guilty like she murdered and stranger for fun?
Nothing makes me more happy than the absolute chaos of Barry being redeemed in everyone’s eyes. The ultimate dark joke and the perfect way to go out on. Also found it incredibly hilarious how Gene went out honestly couldn’t have asked for a better ending

Killing someone would most likely break someone’s mental stability, also her own history of abusers prob had a hand in feeling guilt. Seeing how she is after, just a shell of a person. But honestly a lot of the same as when we first saw her
amazing ending, exactly what each character needed to complete their arcs
im not satisfied with how gene went out tbh

Yeah I get all that possibility I guess her also visually seeing things and not acknowledging her sons existence much until they held captive then future time skip was odd to me. I feel like part of my favorite part of the show would be many things that would have been addressed in the time skip. They gave a basic summary and hints of what happened during that skip but that feels like them emotions would have hit there.
Ironically acting wise Sally and Barry were more moving in the beginning of the season than the end to me.

anyway you see Sally ace that play?

I’ll check out the first episode but I didn’t like anything Levinson made yet and this doesn’t really seem for me. Excited for the soundtrack though.

It's from Mr. Inbetween not The Idol

For sure Barry and sally were more interesting pre time skip, but I still felt satisfied with their ending. Especially since so much of the buildup made sense why their performances after were less exciting, they felt more hollow and uninterested in the life they were living. As far as fuches and Hank, I thought they were the clear standouts of the timeskip

I agree whole heartedly
-Religious angle and son angle didn't fully land for me but I get it.
