See now idk if it’s intentional behind the scenes or not but No Country For Old Men and The Dark Knight are effectively twin films. TDK has more similarities with No Country than it has with Heat, a movie that it’s intentionally referencing
No Country the book and the film have a lot of Batman leaning explorations of manly ass themes so it makes sense if it was a reference for the script behind the scenes
I hate BvS but I admire and respect the audacity of the filmic source material like Excalibur

10th Anniversary next year
I think, at least for me it’s time to let go (still holding hope for an outside chance tho)
However, the vision moves to getting Andy Muschietti off this movie and not casting Brandon Sklenar
Agreed
Give me Jake Gyllenhaal please and ty.
Only thing that's sketch would be the price to pay him for the role
but at the same time it is Batman, that itself should demand pretty good pay

I just can't see him playing the batman counterpart to Corenswet's superman. I think you need someone a little younger

Hmm how do you mean? Like you can't see Jake as friendly to Corenswet?

Like in the comics, Superman and Batman are supposed to be good friends. And i believe Gunn has said he wants their relationship like that in the DCU. I feel like Jake is just a bit too old for me to see them as friends

Oh bet I see what you're saying. I mean this iteration of Batman seems like he's going to have to be older. (assuming the story is still involving Damien, who would be around 10-12 maybe?) That would mean he's already had D*** (pause) and possibly Tim or Jason.
So I also agree that they should be good friends but the age gap could also prove to be beneficial to show their dynamic of one being more serious, dark and brooding (older Batman) and a more light-hearted, caring and fun character (younger Superman)

Could have the dynamic be what BvS should have been - older semi jaded Batman but less harsh than that depiction in contrast to a more happy hopeful emphasis on happy and hopeful bright eyed Supe/

They could still make that work with a 35 - 40 year old Batman. Remember Superman is like 30. I think mid-40s is just too old + by the time they start really filming s***, Jake will be pushing 50

I mean Jake don't look that old does he? Plus that dude is just naturally fit. He doesn't look the way Ben did when he became Batman for example (bulky and older body)
Also look at Jake in that Spider-Man movie. He was able to interact and play with someone who was younger and super bright-eyed

You gotta keep in mind they're gonna wait until The Batman part 2 drops to start casting and s***. it'll be 3-5 years till we actually see Batman in the DCU
