I could throw it on rn and be entertained but i can also pick it apart scene for scene.
Some objectively bad writing throughout but
I dont think muschietti or hobson are fully to blame and i know there was a lot of studio meddling behind the scenes
I think the script had like 56 rewrites .
Anytime there is a commitee trying to make a movie instead of one persons sole vision, its usually bad which is where i think gunn micromanaging will come back to bite himself eventually

Lmao biggest IP is hilarious. Maybe most iconic superhero sure? But that doesn’t mean it’s the biggest IP, Snyder’s rendition of Superman left a sour taste in the mouth of the audience. Most Superman fans are older as well as the character hasn’t been in the zeitgeist (with a strong reproduction of content for him) in a while.

You can vomit out s***ty Spider-Man and Batman movies and people will go see it as they’ve had countless movies within the last 25 years. Superman’s $617M is successful for the kind of marketing it did to bring him back to the public eye + how DC’s brand has been for the last 13 or so years. It needed to do well critically and financially and that it did. You should expect the incoming Superman Saga movies to be better and bigger at the box office.

I agree. I also don’t think Hodson or Muschetti should be at fault here. Production was hell all around, not to mention Ezra’s situation. They did the best they could under the circumstance + WB’s continuous fumbling of leadership and control.

I think that’s why Gunn is giving them a chance again, he knows they’re somewhat talented and wants them to do their thing under properly structured leadership.

(Assuming this is true) I think we're just going to have to make peace with the fact Gunn was being genuine with his comments hyping The Flash before it released. He seems to actually really like Andy and Hodson, knew what the reaction would be if he revealed too early, but ultimately values his decision-making more than our opinions

The hints have always been there. Hodson was named as one of the members of the DCU writing room in 2023 and initially circled for this before allegedly going to Fast & Furious, which is now stalled. Maybe they have some agreement too cus of how both were screwed with Flash & Batgirl idk....

I personally just don't understand why we're continuing with any stories, let alone creative teams that echo late-stage DCEU.

Hodson was basically the handler of late stage DCEU Bat content. She had BoP, Flash (which was supposed to transition to older mentor Bruce moving forward) and Batgirl
