The advertisements for this are f***ing relentless
Even Doc Strange 2 didn’t have this many ads
Heard somebody claim it was already too long, lol.
No critics crying for inclusion of the 14 year old girlfriend that factually happened?
Sounds about white to me
And?
It was a bit of a mixed bag, a lot I liked and a lot I was puzzled by. Austin totally killed it and was great in the role. Tom Hanks didn't annoy me too much but I can see him taking a lot of people out of the film. It was structured a bit too much around Tom's character than I would have liked though. I also didn't realize how much ground needed to be covered. It zooms by so many big moments in Elvis' life it both feels to fast and too long at the same time. Some of the editing choices weren't great and made me wonder if they needed to spend more time looking over that aspect especially if the full version was closer to 4 hours long. While I liked the musical performances I did go into it wanting more of a Moulin Rouge bombastic style with the music and didn't feel I got that so much. I also thought the side characters didn't get much time to shine or stand out especially with how fast they come and go in the story.
With all that it was still a lot of fun and worth checking out, I just think it could have been better.

I don’t know s*** about Elvis & all this buzz about Austin interests me so sounds like I’m gonna watch this next week.
Maybe a 4-hour directors cut will come out someday & iron out those issues

I’ve read there’s only like 4 elvis songs and he doesn’t perform a few of them so it sounds more biopic (with pulpy/ cheesy editing and maximalism)

A biopic that ignores all the shady s***, that's never happened before
