how do I grow a beard

a lot of it is genetics. some people just don’t get hair

but also a lot of it is patience

if you are a hard grower, you will go through weeks of looking scraggly until actual manageable hair comes in

make sure you keep your face clean and use oil as early as you can. don’t shave one bit until you actually have enough hair that you want to cut down to length

My sideburns grow pretty far down but it doesn’t connect with my mustache/chin

I always cut it in a month, military doesn’t let me grow it long enough to see

Yo man ima been real I’ve been growing my hair out over the last 6-7 months and these products have shown so much great results for my hair and beard it’s crazy. I was using Shea moisture’s beard and hair products (they were not bad either honestly) but the scotch porter hair palm and beard serum and stuff has grown my beard and hair more than anything I’ve ever used honestly. I highly recommend it

The only con really they come in really small containers (like 1.7 oz) and I use them twice a day so I have to order some more like every 2 weeks i get a lot of compliments from the hair palm too it has a really nice fragrance to it, legit smells like some cologne lol

Any of you guys rock a 1 inch beard? I can thankfully grow a full beard and I usually get it lined up with a fade. Looking to grow it to at least 1 inch.

Aside from the usual brush/beard oil, what else do you guys use to maintain it

i actually recently just went down to light scruff on the sides with a heavier mustache/ goatee from like a ring finger length beard. kind of like this but a bit more on the mustache / goatee

but anyway, as far as maintenance for a 1 inch+ everyone is different but IMO the single most important thing is beard oil, especially after it gets to a certain point

once your beard gets long, it can no longer produce the correct nutrients / oils to keep the beard healthy, hence why unmaintained longer beard can get scratchy/all over the place

i’d say start with just the oil and a brush and then check and if you think you need some more maintenance go from there.

after oil and brushing next thing i would look into is beard specific shampoo and conditioner

    edit: also look into butter

balm is more of a shaper/former

you can use butter as that but it also kind of conditions your beard (depending on the butter) and supplies it with some oils/nutrients

Ah I used to rock this a while back but I feel like with a fade, aeshetically a 1 inch beard would be perfect for it

Something like this is what im trying to go for but a bit thicker
