During the final exam computer science exam at UVA, I used my Macbook and copied text from images that were presented as questions. I didn’t think much of it at the time, as it’s a feature I’ve always found helpful. Little did I know that this innocent action would create a lot of trouble for me down the line.

After the semester was over, I received a message from another professor expressing concerns about me submitting both the answers and duplicate text of the questions themselves. It turns out, the questions were presented as images to prevent cheating, but it made it look like I had accessed information from an earlier section of the course.

The situation escalated when I had a meeting with another professor to discuss my overall grade and address any concerns. Unfortunately, the meeting quickly turned into a series of baseless accusations of cheating on the exam. It was incredibly stressful, and I even had a medical episode during the meeting due to the overwhelming pressure.

What’s even more frustrating is that the grading process itself has been flawed. Points were deducted from my earlier assignments for containing “advanced material,” even though I was never given the opportunity to address or rectify these issues. Some of these deductions had no impact on the actual quality or outcome of the assignments. It feels unfair and they are literally conspiring against me over baseless accusations.

have a thorough explanation of what your exam proctor saw and make sure you don't have any discrepancies or holes in your account bc they can really f*** you over

on top of this allegation you already seem to have a low grade in the course

so you're probably f***ed honestly

you need good proof of your innocence

My proof is - I can go in to the exam and still copy the questions at this very moment..anyone with a MacBook can copy text from an image.
