It’s extremely easy to get a quick surface level understanding of and have your ego inflated by now being able to say “yeah I’m into philosophy”

But most importantly it feeds peoples most base, egotistical proclivities. Instead of just simply being a reclusive, selfish weirdo with no social skills, you now how have a philosophical-ideological justification for being those things - which just causes a feedback loop for these anti-social traits by letting you feel like an enlightened monk at the same time

It’s really just solipsistic #grindset nonsense dressed up in faux intellectualism. It makes you feel smarter and more unique than everyone despite the fact that you’re just unwittingly glorifying and furthering the dominant agenda of increased social atomization that you’ve convinced yourself you’re somehow immune.

Stoicism is inherently conservative

I think it’s admirable but a lot of people have the wrong takeaways. Being mindful that most things in the world are out of your control and coming to peace with that is healthy; bottling up all of your emotions forever and hiding behind false confidence is not.
