Well why would Royce have any idea of who EM dated back in 89 (Especially "dated" for a very short period of time like Em said) when they met in 97, seems pretty natural that he doesn't have a clue. Was he asked about this anyway? Seems pretty unrelated to this

I mentioned Kim because she is the most famous person we know that link back to Em's High School and we can't find a picture of her in any yearbook s*** so not finding some random girl Em dated back in the day seems pretty possible. that was my point

"Always being with Kim" sure most of the time but from what we know of their relashionship it was clear they had issues so who's to say they didn't broke up a few times and fooled around with other people for a while. It's pretty vague

If you think the MTV article seems like a PR move, the same thing could be said about the Source's hit on EM, when we know for a fact that they had bias againts him so seems pretty fittting with what Chaos Kid said "He accuses The Source of making some factual errors in its reporting and failing to give his quotes proper context.
He writes of his personal experiences with Eminem during that time and says that the famous rapper never used the N-word or "any other derogatory names or made any derogatory remarks about African-Americans in casual conversation with me. In fact, we personally had conversations talking about how we hated racism and racists and both had real songs denouncing racism!!"

Why didn't Em backed it up? Why would he ever want to be associated with him again after he agreed to do the source article? Besides it would be an awful PR move to give the story any more attention and explaining every detail behind it just goes into that. He apologized for the tapes.

I understand your points in this but we're both mostly assuming things here at this point. Besides i don't think neither of us care about Em or what he trully believes like that to be writting this much lmao. So i'm prob not gonna give this more thought

Yes royce was asked about the racist tapes recently
, he actually went off about it on clubhouse and revealed he was blindly defending em cuz he didn't know himself if the girl existed...

They knew eachother since the 90s - the controversy blew up in 2004- you mean to tell me they never had a convo about it in private (I know they beefed around that time but after they patched it up)

This is a huge story and a huge hole in eminem's defense : the way royce always capes for em he would've made sure to dead the rumors she doesn't exist - yet not him nor anyone else around him (not even chaos kid) have corroborated that black gf story

The source magazine def made it a spectacle the way they exposed Eminem - benzino made it too personal which is a huge mistake cuz I take it as an assault on black vulture but people still view it as a rap beef

However the source did expose him with facts - the tapes are real and interscope records tried to sue - so whatever benzino ulterior motive may have been doesn't matter to me in regards to discusing the tapes that exist online

What's said in the magazine can be questioned of course due to benzino's bias

Yeah I don't have that magazine would love to have it too see for myself but I not surprised - benzino used those tapes for a smear campaign

I still need to to read it to see how far it went but that doesn't negate then facts the tapes are real

• the racism was casual and didn't contain a deeper msg or any irony
• eminem is lying about certain things

Let's say I believe this - it doesn't mean the tapes weren't inherently racist.
He didn't make any derogatory comments about African Americans until one broke his heart and then went full racist??? 💀

Where are those "real songs" denouncing racism? Why didn't bring he those tapes out too?
There's no trace of it online whilst here are songs from the 80s from em online
Why didn't em say

"hey I made real songs denouncing racism, if someone has them, please leak it (for x amount of money) or il just make another one"
His label had money for a lawsuit but 'not finding at least one real song about anti-racism

implying Eminem isn't telling us the full story cuz he hates chaos kid for leaking it doesn't make sense if he really wants to write a wrong...

Maybe back then it would've been a horrible pr move but in hindsight it would've been better - no every generation is gonna find out about it and sit there with more questions than answers -

Imo there's no "apology" for racism idc what the intent was

However context can bring about understanding...

But since he gave a questionable story and never adressed it again like a coward I can't find it in me to accept his "apology"

I do. The culture isn’t listening to eminem in 2020. Meanwhile NBA YB got the youth on lock. Legitimately one of the best teenage rappers of all time with Nas and chief keef.
