I'm looking to get a new tv before I get the new xbox. The tv I'm thinking about getting is the Sonyx900h since every YouTube video I've seen recommended it but I wanted to see if anyone's got any other recommendations on what to get.

There aren't many TVs that support every next gen feature so for now anything with 4K, HDR, and OLED should be good.
But if you can, try to hold off until black friday
People still game on TVs?
guess it makes sense for casual gaming.
sony 900 series are no joke, if you can get one that's a year old for a lower price then that's even better imo.
If you want an Oled I would get Lg before Sony. I do not think that Sony has any discernible improvements over LG when it comes to that arena.
For zone controlled easily the 900 series.
Don't get a Samsung they are garbage

Usually I just buy whatever Rtings.com tells me is best.
My TV from a few years ago is actually 4k 60Hz so it checks all the boxes but the picture is meh

they are bright, over saturated, colors are inaccurate, and over time they fade and become dull, competitors offer better tvs at the same price point.
Samsung is a gimmicky imo, and are babies when it comes to the tv market, they are just much better at sales and marketing than their competitors.

The best TVs out on the market are for gaming.
Someone from Sony literally said the PS5 was made with the intent to play it on a TV, thus no 1440p support (as of yet).

Yes lots of people still game on TVs.

If it’s basement go OLED

Yes I have at least all new models up to 2019.
I worked in high end home theater sales and instillation. I would recommend a Samsung for a bright room because they are bright. Qled is literally a gimmick that is a color pallet that has existed for years. Samsung's are bright and vivid so people want them. But they are flawed for all the reasons mentioned above, including the lack of an oled pannel
I can't say what brand/type of TV would be best, but if you get a big one I'd make sure the store does delivery and maybe installation (depending if you put it on a wall/just on a cabinet). Those f***ers are awkward and big.
Also I worked as a Sony rep so I'm incredibly biased. But I'll stan Sony TV's to the death. Them s***s hit different

No tv is better than a gaming monitor.
Also, I said it makes sense for casual gaming to play on a tv.

Yeah that's fair, hope you find a good one.
Try go for an oled tv if you have the funds for it.
