meh. Dont get me wrong he's great but this role isn't an "iconic" role of his
Jake Gyllenhall would’ve done this role 10x better.
I thought Denis wouldve gone with Jake but I disagree I think Gosling was the perfect choice. He is great at being the quiet yet manic character and he has that type of replicant/android persona in a way.
Adam Driver
Natalie Portman
Joaquin Phoenix
Leonardo DiCaprio
Elisabeth Moss
Amy Adams
Lupita Nyong’o
Robert Pattinson
Jake Gyllenhaal
Soairse Ronan

basterds came out in 2009 so it's not in the window anyway, just a good gif of him
Its crazy how much people overlook Ryan's talent imo. He can be vibrant and funny like in The Nice Guys and Crazy stupid love or troubled but endearing like in Blue Valentine.
Drive, Only God Forgives and BR2049 made people not only realize he can play dark roles but it also kind of hurt him cause people are under the assumption that he's more style over substance and his looks carry most of his roles

True true
Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis,, & Javier Bardem> a lot of the names yall picked
All great actors but do any of them beside Octavia have great classic roles? Also how can you hate on Gyllenhaal he's one of the best actors we have at this point.
This decade I mean cause I would've said Javier based on No Country alone & Viola was amazing in How to Get Away W/ Murder & Fences.
Jake Gyllenhall
Chadwick Boseman
Viola Davis
Mahershala Ali
Stephan James
Lupita N’yongo

I would DEFINITELY put Lupita, RDJ, Viola & Boswick on the list. I feel like Chad Boswick got some classic roles coming up in his career, one of my favorite new actors.
Edit: Also Regina King >>>>>>>>
Also Jamie Foxx deserves to be mentioned for his comedic roles, Django & renegading Baby Driver (He was the only good part of that movie tbh).

Seeing a distinct lack of Woody Harrelson in these lists
I love Woody but what has he done last decade that was memorable besides Tru Detective?
Also no need to distinguish great actors from each other but I'm talking about what have they done recently. Some of the actors are amazing but haven't had a great or memorable role in a while. For instance I love Emile Hirsch but he hasn't really been relevant this decade.
