"movie magic" actually meant something back in the days before CG. some of these movies have my eyes absolutely bugging out of my head awe of how they pulled this s*** off so long ago.

and they way people react to each other, the subtle unspoken gestures etc that you would think are maybe contemporary but are in fact things weve been doing for centuries. dust like this is a cool reminder of how we are.

also were into the period where Stalin, Hitler, Hirohito seized control of their countries film industries (while other countries were reacting to their rise to power) so thats another fascinating aspect to behold if youre into history.
