George is too much of a little f*** face. Fanny was nice and unhinged. Obviously shot masterfully etc but doesn't help much when you don't care about the story or most of the characters.

I don't like him either tbh but it's his arrogance that is his downfall + his denial of realizing outer circumstances. A little similar to Kane.

for sure but I just dont enjoy the films energy. on a visual level it makes everything else from this year look like s*** but that only gets you so far.

Jean Gabin paid a visit and spoke in english with cigarette-laden french accent. cinematography is impressionistic and noirish if you say. i liked the bobo getting drunk with distorted effect. classic redemption story for sure
