something i've noticed while watching his sonimage era films
i've been stuck after histoires, i really wanna go back and rewatch it. haven't really even felt like watching his 80s "mainstream films" like carmen, detective or every man for himself really, just watched the d*** cavett interview instead for the every man rollout
Man Cavett interviewed a ton of goats watched him s***ting his pants when interviewing Jerry Lee Lewis the other day

one he had Cassavetes, Falk, and Gazzara on the show all drunk (I think they're promoting Husbands)

This still one of my favorite interviews of his

Planning on dying young? You got time
Planning on dying young? You got time
I mean sure i still have time in the coming future, at least i'd hope so
But with my 22 years of age i'm still too young to have seen everything obviously. As much as i love the medium i don't have the luxury and time to sit down and watch 10 films a day
Still a lot of catching up to do

So start slow? Check out Our Hospitality and see what you think. Nice and short.

It's not that i haven't seen any older films it's just that there's like many classics that i haven't seen from the 60s for example and i'd rather go through a lot of those first before i go back any further

I know what you mean but why not dabble in both? You'll get some of the archaic references and better appreciate how far the medium has gone when you watch those 60s masterpieces if you have some frame of reference from the dusty days.
I've had whole rooms full of little heauxs and friends that don't give a f*** about "le filme" laughing their asses off to Buster Keaton. They are not challenging.

Oh yeah for sure and i try to dabble in as many eras as possible, like i said there's just soooooo much that it gets overwhelming. But my love for film will eventually get me there for sure

Modern Times was a life changer for me at your age too. Nice middle ground between silent and early talkie with a beauty resto from Crit.
started knocking down dust films p much at the same time i started actually caring about cinema, don't regret it. s/o the cinematheque programming/curation.
if anything i think i neglect 00s and 10s lmao

tbh once you get the dust ball rolling its gets way harder to keep up with the fresh films

v true, for new films (and 00s and 10s in general) it's p much directors i already know and like, otherwise i rarely catch something.
