Cube had a conscious side of him that was so good. Much more in your face than Kendrick, but equally effective(even more so imo). Every album of his has at least a few songs touching on real s***

I feel like on that album in particular he came across as more “thoughtful conscious” rather than the aggression of NWA and his debut, as someone who took a while to listen to it I felt like it showed another side of cube. Very well thought out album and I love the life side

Hey, I was just going to post that for YEARS i was told this was the point where Cube fell off? now after i took a listen i'm like

that ten minute jazz joint might be my favourite cut, but i'm gonna listen to it a bit more before i come to a more well-rounded conclusion

It's cause he started doing the Dre sound, more synth oriented West Coast rap. And people criticized him for it. But looking back it's aged like fine wine

it's one of those were it's be revaluated after time and it's received greater praise.

it's a chill, laid back, cook out music

i'm into it gives a nice slice at what cube was capable of outside of the socially concious material he's mostly acclaimed for on the music front.

Since i been in my running bag the ice cube albums have been a mainstay in my rotation.

For me, in my experience amongst new hip-hop heads there seems to be unappreciation for the early cube albums. The first 3 are straight classics for me and lethal injection is dope
