Only the s***scenes were male gazey imo and I already know about everything that went on behind the scenes but it still doesn’t change my opinion on the film itself.
well i guess i can't change your overall opinion on the film, since i really disliked it so agree to disagree i suppose
tho i would rather more people watched and supported lgbt films that were actually positive human representations and better yet were directed by actual lgbt people instead of films like bitwc and cmbyn

For me Blue Is the Warmest Color did what Call Me By Your Name also did which was make a queer love character relatable to everyone, it’s really only the s***scenes that bring it down in quality.
I don’t mind cis hetero people directing queer films unless it’s a situation where the director relies on cliches/stereotypes, doesn’t have the balls to show intimacy between the same s***characters (Moonlight) or just flat out straight washing (Dallas Buyer’s Club) or making a queer character asexual (Dolemite).
Moonlight if that counts
Did not see what all the hype was about. S*** ends just as it started getting good smh

Great movie but it’s like the rich white liberal perspective where it only hurt them for a few days
