Would you say KA blew up?
I thought Isaiah Rashad would be way bigger than what he is.
Is that his fault or the label?
Same with Boogie.

For an artist like Ka, I'd say critical acclaim is the only props hes ever gonna get. His music isnt designed to blow up as far as the mainstream is concerned.
Any kind of pub he gets is a W

Probably blame on both sides, although it seems like addiction and insecurity might be holding him back some. We’ll probably never know the whole truth though.

could've... If he ever actually dropped any music. Man used to be on the same level as sza and look at her now
Would you say KA blew up?
Nah, but I don’t think that’s why he makes music in the first place and that’s probably why he’s able to do what he does so well. He’s a poet fr.
charles hamilton
Charles was super talented.
It's like he has a dark cloud over him

It feels like it’s been a while since she dropped too.
XV, Theophilius London, Charles Hamilton, Blu, AA Rashid,
Blu?
I agree but I'm sure the people who think he has RAOTY feel different
It feels like it’s been a while since she dropped too.
Her last album was almost 3 years ago but since then she's had a great social media presence, done awesome features/modeling s*** with Rihanna and she just dropped another single. Zay hasn't dropped in over 4 years :
I used to think Father was up next for sure. He could've reached Tyler/brockhampton levels but idk what happened
Wifisfuneral, ik he's not a lyricist like most of the rappers mentioned itt. But he can rap and his old projects we're dope. I thought that XXL & that Nahmir song was gonna blow him up but I guess he dropped the ball.
Kinda hard to answer because there's plenty of rappers that "blowing up" wasn't necessarily their goal. Lot of great underground rappers that were never going to blow up.
Like Devin is not the type of guy that wants to be a star.

Devin couldve blown.
He spent his best years trapped on Rap-A-Lot.
His 4th album had Wayne, Snoop and Andre 3000 features.
His 2nd album.had Nas and Raphael Siddiq feats and DJ Premier/Dr. Dre production.
He just never had a machine to push him.
If he had been on Aftermath he mightve had a real chance. I think they wanted to sign him after his appearance on 2001

I agree he could've been bigger but I don't know how far into the mainstream he could've gotten. He was certainly beloved here in Texas and among rap circles. He had some good weed raps but was much more low key than a Wiz was, but he did have the singing/rapping thing down early so maybe.
Not best rapper but Red Cafe was being forced on us for like 2 years
Everyone seemed to love him.
He stayed with a single on NY radio but he lacked the charisma and the image to really pop.off.
He kept getting record deals too. I'll never understand it.
