KRIT had 2 albums on Def Jam.
They pushed him.
But the music he was selling was inferior to the s*** he gave away for.free.

Shawnna was dope.
They never cracked the code on what a good album from her should consist of.
Skooly from.Rich Kidz. He started all that singing trap s*** but never found any success, even after signing with 2 Chainz.
Yung Berg. Should've had a much longer run as an artist. Supremely talented kid
Ryan Leslie....hes the Kanye of R&B. Never got his due.
KRIT. it's still a total anomaly as to why he never really entered the mainstream when the south was really popping. he had the perfect sound.
Krit as skilled as kendrick man...his team gotta do better promoting him π€¦πΏββοΈπ€¦πΏββοΈ
did Gunplay from MMG really "blow up"? if not, him
MMG mishandled a lot of talent not named Meek π€·πΏββοΈ

It's not the promotion.
I think hes too much of a traditionalist. This new generation of Hip-Hop heads dont like the "Old School" sound that he has. It's not experimental enough to captivate these kids.
Ski Mask the slump G-d
Mans lost so many of his homies to this s***. Cant blame him

I feel like his label mismanaged him. His debut was one of the weaker projects heβs released. It was a big misstep. For a moment in time, he was right there with Kendrick and Cole.
Charles Hamilton was super talented but d*** addiction and mental illness ruined his career
XV was making really good pop rap during its height but he never really popped despite having two great tapes. dont really know what happened to him. maybe label issues
Ab-Soul prolly the least successful from black hippy which is unfortunate. He has a classic with control system but he was never able to match that
Vince Staples gets more recognition for his personality than his music. He's consistently been putting great work out for years and has a solid career but i feel like he should be way bigger. its only a matter of time before he blows
Theres so many more. Its unfortunate because certain circumstances really hold back super talented artists.

XV was dope. He was all.over the blogs. Kid from Kansas wit the Just Blaze co-sign.
The Kid With The Green Backpack was supposed to be the debut album. Never dropped.
Ski Mask the slump G-d
Ugh ski had so much potential. After Stokeley dropped he just stopped dropping s***. Dude would have blown up so much.
SGP
ab soul slander
Dude went too far left with the 3rd eye chakra bean pie s***

His last album was really bad.
Like uncharacteristically bad for a TDE project.
Havent heard from that nigga since.
Dude went too far left with the 3rd eye chakra bean pie s***
S*** was cool and interesting in the early 2010s.
Gunplay, I'm a huge fan. Though after his debut album which was great his music ain't been hitting the same. He lost his hunger. Late 00's-early 10's he killed everyone and everything.
