are you guys talking about highlights of Revolver? if so I'm Only Sleeping and For No One
Yeah I remember you saying this but I'm still scared of revisiting it
I also think it’s his only truly feminist film if you want to evaluate things that way. It totally flips the slasher format while using the iconography of masculine car movies. Kurt Russell basically plays a dude who can’t c***and uses his car as an extension of himself to try to. He ends the film crying like a baby as he’s emasculated even more by women who know how to drive better than him. It’s worth a revisit if you’re in the right mood. Just good dialogue and good stunts.
Revolver is probably my favorite Beatles album and tbh I don't love Taxman
When you find out how much taxes they were paying though
literally 90% somehow I do not understand
from Dreaming The Beatles by my boy Rob

What he’s saying about SFF tho
Always wished Eleanor Rigby was like 2 minutes longer to flesh it out more. It’s this really grand larger than life piece of music that doesn’t sound like anything else they’ve ever done but yet it’s so short that it never has a chance to get going. Same way I feel about Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want by The Smiths.
It was probably hard enough just to get it done, let alone “tap into some deeper artistic expression”
Sometimes a pop song is just a pop song

Love You To is such a vibe to me
Is that just the guaranteed #1 for next year?
Yes and no
Ill be ranking Basement Tapes as well so
no snazzy production required to tear my soul to shreds
The Kinks knew the secret of a 2 minute gem
impossible to get sick of something that never overstays welcome

could've been a single but maybe a little too similar to Dedicated Follower Of Fashion which is another classic. Almost feels like he could be talking about his brother in that one cause every picture I see of Dave back then has him dressed to the nine.
Was this really about Brian Jones or did this youtoober have a vendetta
better to be super basic b**** then a weirdo like me who probably wouldnt put eleanor rigby in my top 50 beatles songs

@Very_Based @HeyFella
For No One one of de best Paul tunes for sure
Trust me hes equally a Dylan stan although he gives the edge to The Beatles over the Stones. Can post that chapter if you want :kendricklaff:
a dylan stan slandering Thin Man like that to showcase a higher stannery
Thoughts on De Capo? Thought you'd be a fan of Love and their insane progression that year
isn't it '67?
relistened to it (& Forever Changes) before responding. A great album. While the melodies can be a bit simple they definitely have their purpose and the arrangements are very colorful. The last track is also just a jam and probably my favorite thing they've done. Prefer it to Forever Changes, which is still a very good album.
Controversial Revolver Ranking

12. For No One (sorry it's way too short for me to leave much of an impact.)
13. I Want To Tell You
14. Doctor Robert

yeah def feels pretty condensed
Nah then it would get boring like Whiter Shade Of Pale which is the next big "classical pop" song
That brevity
I prefer that one to Eleanor Rigby tbh

F*** I think I knew this
I'm completely allergic to that jam and will never understand how you can prefer that freeform ridiculousness over the exquisitely orchestrated stuff
Fairouz is a treasure to humanity
