60’s Nirvana
@Elric
Ah nice I didn't realize this was their first single
I was actually going to make a post about the fact that it's just dawning on me that a ton of these singular psychedelic albums also had corresponding singles and b-sides.. which is obvious but I just hadn't looked into every one of the million bands that dropped a notable album yet. Still firmly in the era where you had to drop a single or two first.
posted this already
dave really came into his own and put these guys in the rare field of having more than one classic vocalist in the band
same singer that kanye sampled for 4th Dimension
@twinkletoez half a century into his career

I watched this last night
Psychic
in an example of wrong choice of single literally dooming a great band, The Zombies chose this f***ing song over Time Of The Season (which was finished) for the lead single to Odyssey & Oracle
the second single tanked as well and by the time Time Of The Season and the album dropped in a few months into 1968 they had split up
the b-side is a low-key psych classic tho
@HeyFella
Friends of Mine is great but it’s the most similar to everything else going on at the time so it blends in too much.
@RVI best songs off Crusade?
havent been able to marinate fully
the mayall album? i havent even peeped. probably should

Thought you said you had. Yung Mick Taylor. Sounds good on cursory listen just not Peter or Eric.

Yep
I don’t know where I heard Butchers Tale was the first single
Me neither especially since I made this post addressing that exact situation and you probably saw it

It was the first single released in the states. It’s talked about starting at 7:00 in this video.

could have came out fall '67 maybe even summer if the record company didn't twiddle their thumbs

Would love to see how they would have followed up that album if it was successful.

Potentially something really tasteful like how Pretty Things followed up S.F. Sorrow with Parachute
or how Beau Brummels followed up Triangle with Bradley's Barn

you ever heard the stuff from the "RIP" unfinished stuff/sessions they started working on?

i think its like half an albums worth of mostly realized stuff then another half of kinda random outtakes
