those horns @twinkletoez
can you spot the sample?

Just listened to the full record. Pretty great album. The first track and the final 3 are the highlights for me.
have we already discussed how the Velvets had such a wealth of tunes they could have made a double album with Loaded if they kept them all

Ending part is the best with Bowie wailing in the background
i guess those from elvis in memphis backing musicians dont hit me as hard as they do you. theyre good for me not life changing
i think he goes good with the schmaltz arrangements too honestly. also a very natural feeling progression tbh
apparently the TTWII concert film/documentary is really good
also never seen Gimme Shelter

maybe the majesty of the schmaltz and iconic vegas era will sink in with the film
Revisited Plastic Ono Band. I was crazy for not connecting with this in the past. Still prefer Ram and All Things Must Pass overall, but this is really strong stuff. That double hit of Love and Well Well Well is something else. All the raw emotion of a Nick Drake song followed by pure grit and anger. God had me chocked up when he gets to that “I only beleive in myself” part and then “the dream is over” just solidifies it. Must have been a gut punch at the time.

You know what Trey Anastasio called the Holy Grail of electric guitar?
