This is growing on me a ton. It’s kinda crazy how much Belle & Sebastian sounds like this song specifically.

Love this song. So ahead of its time. It feels ripped right out of the 90’s. A lot of The Slider does actually.

I might honestly prefer the first album as there’s a bit more moments of sincerity on there, but this has some definite highlights worth posting.

songs is an opus but I disagree about the album sounding 90s. theres way too much 50s Chuck Berry guitar choogle.

I guess I’m just thinking of stuff like Suede which draws a lot from specific T. Rex and Roxy Music. Just Another High from Roxy also feels very 90’s to me.

I thought Suede sounded like a 50/50 split between Bowie and The Smiths personally

Those influences are there as well, but T Rex and Roxy Music are very clearly in their DNA.

Also not to keep shilling for this band, but speaking of which, this sounds so eerily close to a Suede ballad.
