the call-and-response, the riff, the synths. The energy it packs. One of Bowie's best rockers. Only Rebel Rebel can compete imo. Still remember listening to it on the radio and being blown away by it.

I like the ballads on Ziggy Stardust (Rock 'n' Roll Suicide in particular) but I prefer others (Word On A Wing, Life On Mars?, Quicksand, Lady Grinning Soul, Always Crashing In The Same Car, Space Oddity). Not all actual ballads but they fit somehow.

Ayers guitar tone and arreangements had to have been an influence on TTM and HCTWJ @RVI @Galaxy @RASIE sounds alot like Back In Judy's Jungle etc

I always thought Suffragette City, Jean Genie and Rebel Rebel sorta formed a trilogy that truly captured the energy of 50s rock and early riff monster Stones Jean Genie being my favourite by a fair margin. they whip that song into an absolute frenzy.

i posted fania records stuff before itt, its the so called "latin motown" of the time. and you didnt seem to have a problem with the salsa music in the past few years

i took 4 years of spanish but forgot most of it now, i was decent at one point and i kinda want to become fluent eventually tbh. dont think i heard much salsa growing up, to my knowledge its not as popular with Mexicans. so what i heard was probably always more reggaeton type stuff from the younger people and ranchera/mariachi from the older ones

I guess I liked the older stuff more idk I keep trying but the salsa doesnt really get me going. at least ive turned into a Stantana :ohtu: only got one Caravanserai listen in so far but wasnt let down
