    i'll take your word for it, 50's/60's s*** is kind of a blindspot for me, besides the obvious stuff and like idk jazz i guess

    the opening post has a pretty solid guide to those years brushing up on your rockabilly and early 60s pop would definitely increase you appreciation for later stuff

    ak ok. I remember when I was a kid that didnt listen to any music at all yet and got Nine Lives for my birthday from a straight laced uncle that definitely does not listen to Aerosmith still confused by that

    fam I spend 5-6 months researching then agonizing over my final ranking before I post them curating them is turning into a part time job. so yeah I force everybody to listen tot them cause its a lot of effort.

    I still think I might've found more new personal gems for the years 1959-1964 tbh

    those "lean" years were actually jam packed with gold

    the 2nd Deep Purple album from this year is also good altough a sizeable step below burn. mostly this title track is great

    It’s probably cause that’s the purest era for songwriting.

    I guess it was the ceiling of earnest
    and straightforward songwriting craft before pop went postmodern for whatever and the parameters totally changed
