i said for years that country & r&b should merge more
but the record industry is slow. you would think ray charles and womack would be enough of a hint that these collaborations should become more frequent
i say this because it’s a way for r&b to get on nashville radio without doing something like lil nas x.
this doubles your audience and opens the doors for R&B to get out of this loop fest bore that it mostly is in
R&B finally might understand you don’t have to do what everyone else is doing. Chances are radio isn’t spinning g your record anyways. So why continue to stay in equivalent of jr high in music? Get out go to Nashville.
this album won a grammy and was number 1 on country charts. R&B radio didn’t even know it was out
and it was just a easy relaxed selection of R&B standards & it got airplay and these are black artist stars with country artists -easy concept
Here you have Travis Tritt & Patti Labelle - this is how you do it sing a standard and put two great singers who grew up on these records. It is revealing that Beyonce is doing a country record in 2023 - finally someone is able to do this on a national platform. 😒
Out if Orville Peck not on it
Ok
