Beyoncé’s catalog shows that she’s heavily invested in making music that women can enjoy. and she has proven herself to be someone who knows how to make/choose hits that appeal to women specifically. so obviously, she’s going to give her perspective on the track as a woman listening to it

media and critics is not the metric for making money, artists like Russ are shunned by media and critics for being super corny but he has a big cornball audience that makes him rich

Her suggesting adding a Nicki feature is still an artistic opinion whether she was also thinking about “PR” optics also. And it wasn’t a bad suggestion as Nicki was on a run back then leading into her album. Song would’ve did numbers nonetheless.
It’s really not that big of a deal lol I’m sure she’s not the first artist to recommend a feature, specifically a woman feature to “balance” out a song like this.
