Entire point of the form and the background check is 'can we trust you' cus you may have access to sensitive material.
That's why lying about it or not telling the truth is actually worse than just admitting it, cus you already establishing you can't be trusted

For one, Biden has 0 to do with them getting fired. It's a security clearance issue. Every media outlet is reporting it as if HE personally fired them because they don't know how getting a security clearance works.
When you are trying to get a job that requires a Top Secret security clearance you have to fill out an SF86 questionaire. Because you need to go through a background investigation

Plenty of people have smoked weed in the past and still get jobs that require a TS clearance, the big thing is that you be upfront about it.
If you tell them about it, all they ask is to sign something saying you won't do it again. If you don't tell the truth about it, and they find out that is WORSE than smoking weed in the past and you WILL not get the job
They make this pretty clear on the form
You're 100% right. As long as you're completely transparent about your old d*** history, there's still a good chance people are able to pass clearance.
If you got fired because of past weed use, that 100% means you were lying on your SF-85 or SF-86. EVEN IF weed is federally legalized or decriminalized, you are liable for d*** use during a time period where it was illegal.
