Those troops are there to secure the Kabul embassy and airport afaik. They'll probably be leaving soon as well.
The US might leave 650 to 1,000 troops to guard its embassy and help secure the Kabul airport
June Was Deadliest Month in Afghanistan in Two Decades
The news, culled from government reports, had 638 people who were either military or civilians killed in the fighting, and over 6,000 Taliban also killed in just a single month.
120 districts have been evacuated in the face of the Taliban offensive, and they’ve reached provincial capitals in at least three provinces, contested cities big and small across the region. The Afghan security forces are losing ground consistently.

Taliban attacks have sent Afghan forces spilling into Tajikistan and Uzbekistan which is where the US has proposed restationing its troops in the region. Also, it appears US equipment is already falling into Taliban hands.
keep in mind we have more than 16,000 private mercenaries still in Afghanistan on US payroll and they show no signs of leaving

So I do have to ask, is pulling out actually ethical right now?
This isnt the same as asking whether going in was ethical, which is a whole different thing, but is it ethical if your departure will make everything 5 times worse

It's the most ethical thing the US has done in the country in 20 years

!https://youtu.be/F4XC0QPoFV0Lol, these guys won
Well, tbh to keep it blunt the afghani army as a whole is full of f***in cowards who aren’t willing to fight for their own country. That’s a small part of it
Also you have to remember, Afghanistan has never been a country that at any point has had a strong centralized government that was accepted by their people. Tribal allegiance is very very strong there. How can you expect a invading country to come in and establish a strong government and competent military for people who resisted this for hundreds of years? It’s impossible and was doomed from the jump.
I’ve also heard stories of firefights going down and the Afghani army running with the US right beside them, even worse when left to their own devices
Whole thing was a s***show that could never of been won.
It’s sickens me to see how that beautiful & historical country has deteriorated, but it all boils down to a lack of central gov, but moreover, NOT A STRONG ENOUGH MILITARY. No one would’ve been able to f*** with them/destabilize them if they invested into their military smh.
I’m sorry, but you got Russia to the North. China to the East. Pakistan-India to the South. Iran to the West. If you’re in the middle of that, and DONT ensure your military is top priority, idk what to tell you.
Forget having nukes (which is apparently mandatory for keeping up with Joneses in that part of the world), but LITERALLY A WEAK MILITARY??? Next to THOSE FKN COUNTRIES? BRUH WHAT IS YOU DOIN.
If Afghanistan had a stronger military back then, they would’ve just cut everyone in their region a smile like “come and try, pussies” I’m all sad now
If you still think America or any other western country is in the middle east to make peoples lives better you're lying to yourself
So I do have to ask, is pulling out actually ethical right now?

Yeah, look at where Iran government officials' children live. All western citizens... Look at the money trail. It's all oil business. Black market is where it's at.
Obama gave 1500 visas to iran officials and their families as part of the iran deal. Lord knows the ayatollahs and their children need it after the upcoming protests and uprisings come to fruition. They gonna need a safe place to hide; the top dawgs already got their private islands furnished.
