Anyways, the Dems have shown they’re not willing to go as progressive as most would want. Any upcoming elections they’re going to be in for a rude awakening now that they don’t have the talking point of running against Trump.

The party is dead in the water.

Which I get not being happy with the Dems have done, but electing a Republican will make sure absolutely nothing we ever want to happen gets done. Makes no sense to me why people think voting Republican will somehow get all these things done that the Democrats are currently failing at. It will just make progress even slower and even less likely to ever happen.

It's how you get 2016 all over again. Why do you think there's so much dark money being invested in Manchin/Sinema rn? Complete disillusionment is an effective strategy, especially when paired with a shameless opposition party whose base is completely divorced from reality (see: the fact that the "Biden is a socialist and autocrat" talking point is taking such a strong hold when s*** like the thread title happens daily and our covid response has essentially boiled down to the honor system in all but city centers)

But I think this type of thinking is what the democrats are relying on and it’s the ONLY reason anyone even votes for them at this point.

They rely on votes from those that will be put in danger from Republicans being in control and don’t implement anything to actually benefit those voters. And this is why at this point people are just fed up with them.

So in the end blame the Democrats for being absolutely useless every time they’re in office. And proud to be useless and creating very little progress.
