FERA made it acceptable for the govt to manipulate the market to prevent failure for certain companies, establishing govt intervention of the market as an acceptable means to handle short-term failure. Add onto that the social security system (which no, i dont think is ultimately negative), and it made the public more dependent on the govt economically, allowing for the govt to have greater control, and for established corporations to further influence the govt. That was seen in the housing market bailouts.

None of this is relavent to the thread at hand.
